An Evening with the Farmers
This past August, I had the joy of photographing the NOMAD Farms Annual Banquet for the second year in a row—and let me just say, it’s quickly become one of my favorite events to capture.
Held in downtown Winston, the banquet is a beautiful, formal celebration to mark the end of another Farm Camp summer. It’s not every day you get to see farmers trade in their boots and work shirts for suits, dresses, and candlelit dinners—but that’s exactly what makes this night so special.
There’s something really moving about watching this community come together—people who spend their days working hard in the fields, pouring into kids, building something lasting—and then taking a moment to pause, celebrate, and honor all that’s been accomplished.
The room was filled with laughter, stories, and a deep sense of gratitude. Photographing it all—the details, the joy, the well-earned pride—was such a privilege. NOMAD is doing something truly beautiful, and I’m grateful to witness it through my lens, year after year.
