An Evening at the Smid Farm

Last May, I had the privilege of photographing some dear friends and their little family before they moved away. It was one of those bittersweet sessions—full of love, laughter, but also the last time I would see them before they moved. We walked around the husband’s family farm during golden hour, soaking in the warmth of the sun and the sweetness of the season they were in.

Their baby boy was just three months old at the time, and they had the cutest little cowboy hat for him—I mean, truly heart-melting. Capturing them as a new family of three, surrounded by the land that held so much meaning, was such a special moment.

Fast forward to now—and they’re back! They now have TWO little boys, and it’s so beautiful to see their story continue in a place that already holds so much love and history! I’m so grateful I got to freeze that chapter in time before their move, and even more grateful that I get to keep watching their story unfold right here at home.
